Guardian News & Media (GNM) today announced the acquisition of Kable Ltd, a leading provider of market intelligence, events and publications to IT suppliers in the public sector market.
Kable will operate as part of Guardian Professional, which has been generating business-to-business revenue for the Guardian since its inception last year. Managed by director Colin Hughes, Guardian Professional already has a strong presence in conferencing, sponsorship, supplements, and print and digital publication and excellent reach into the education, public services and media markets. Kable brings its successful exhibition and market intelligence products into the mix, and also extends GNM’s reach into public sector IT procurement.
Founded in 1990, Kable has three core activities: providing market intelligence and research reports for global IT businesses in the UK and European public sectors, running events and conferences such as GCexpo and Procurement Services for the Public Sector and publishing a portfolio of public sector IT magazines, including GC (Government Computing) and Smart Healthcare.
Paul Smith, managing director of Kable, says, “We are delighted to become part of GNM. The Guardian’s position and reach in the public sector, along with its commitment to quality and high customer service values, match exactly the culture and market position that Kable has developed over the past 17 years.
