Kable has begun to accept entries for the Government Computing Awards for Innovation with a new category joining the accolades - the Green IT award. This award highlights the demands for sustainability and respect for the environment that has become increasingly important in public sector IT projects. It joins seven established awards for best projects:
- government to government
- government to citizen
- government to business
- delivering efficiency
- shared services
- innovator of the year
- overall winner
The prizes will be presented at a gala dinner in London next April by Gillian Merron MP, the Cabinet Office minister with responsibility for the transformation of public services. The Government Computing Awards have been running since 1996 and highlight the innovative use of IT in the public sector.
