A Camberwell schoolboy, the National Gallery and a TV channel called Dave topped the bill at the very first MEGAs, the MediaGuardian Awards for Innovation. This was the inaugural year for the MEGAs, which recognise cutting edge innovation across the media industry. In 2008 MediaGuardian's partners for the MEGAs are the BBC and Royal Mail.
